NO MANDATORY INTERNET FILTERING
By Jamis on Jan 8, 2008
What a rediculous ignorant idea. First of all filtering on such a large scale will slow down our already outdated internet backbone.
Secondly, there is very little information about exactly what is going to be filtered, there seem to be rumours and hearsay but nothing concrete. This is very concerning, I don’t want content i read censored because it contains “hate speach”, “anti-democratic views” or “terrorism based themes”.
My only hope is that if this goes ahead, that majority of Australia’s will decide to opt out of it deeming it to be exactly what it is, a waste of time.
Parents should be responsible for the content their child views at home not the government!
