Bruno censored on Rove?

Bruno
Was Bruno censored on Rove? Sure, it might be down to a TV glitch, but the gay fashionista’s comment about a “wife getting as much sex as [SILENT]” appears to have been a tad too controversial for Channel 10 (c’mon it was too well placed to be a glitch).
According to my lip-reading posse, the wife’s name was Katie Holmes. Ten afraid of the Cruise lawyer brigade? Surely not.

I can’t see how this could have been offensive to anyone (if they were named). No one even flinched or laughed that much when he said (who ever it was), so why the censorship? Very (knitted) Soft Cock of Channel 10

It was “Katie Holmes”. He’s said this phrase before on various TV shows and other media.
I’m sure Cruise would sue as it insinuated that Tom was gay. He’s sued tons of magazines for insinuating or claiming he was gay. It shouldn’t have been cut out!! Channel 10 you weak losers! They also cut out the audience response in the audio.

Shame on CH10 for pussing out. Also, why didn’t Bruno get to stay during the rest of the show? Did Kevin Rudd through a tantrum and demand it?

I mean, did he demand Bruno NOT stay on the show?

Wow, it seemed Rove failed on more than one account this Sunday night. His Michael Jackson jokes seemed to hit a sour note too

It’s weird that Katie Holmes would be censored… I thought he was saying something like The Pope or something. Stupid Channel 10

Lol.. I agree that it was funny to see Rove’s reactions to Bruno’s routine, however, as with Borat, Cohen uses the SAME jokes, and SAME dialogue at every talk show that he is interviewed on… disapointing.

What a joke censorship has become.
I find the censorship to be FAR more offensive than anything that IS censored.
Shame, channel 10.

Instead of hiding the gag/comment, it’s actually ensured that we’re all talking about it, asking what name was mentioned and why it was cut out. If they were really afraid of being sued, they would have cut the piece altogether.
It’s very weak.

I guessed ‘Therese Rein’, which would be in line with typical SBC tastelessness (making us think of the PM & Therese going at it – but now I’ve done it, so nyah!)
Maybe Tom or Katie are lined up for the show in the near future.

Man, what a fucking crock.
Rove and Bruno are some examples of really fuckin’ low brow humor, but still…. WTF.
By AileenWuornos on Jun 29, 2009
I have heard that Tom Cruise is litigious about that subject but still: wonder why the censors considered it a different matter for SBC to make the same claim explicitly about Arnie several times during that sketch as well.

It’s because she’s going to be a guest on Rove next week when she’s in town – or at least they hope she will be.

So it’s OK to broadcast a joke about someone cumming on Bruno’s face, but mentioning Katie Holmes is what they censor?
This country has become a nation of pathetic fucking wowsers. It’s time people had a cup of concrete and hardened the fuck up. All people in this country do of late is bitch and whine about what’s offensive.

my understanding is that it was censored by Rove – not anyone else, so as not to harm their chances of TomKat appearing on Rove

It’s insulting to the audience, and pathetic.
I propose a campaign not to watch the episode with Katie Holmes (if she’s ever on). I’m not going all out and extreme “Never watch Rove again”. If you like his “comedy”, watch him again in the future. However, if you normally tune in, just skip that week. Encourage your viewing friends to do the same.
If enough people buy in, that sends a powerful message: panhandle to celebrities and your ratings will suffer. People don’t respect it.
Campaign: Don’t watch Holmes on Rove.

Perhaps there was some pressure from Heavy Kevvy. Remember his comment in the “what I learned” segment at the end of the show? I recall there was something about the host looking into alternative careers (or something like that, the show wasn’t that memorable).
That said, the TomKat explanation is also plausible, especially taking into account the commercial implications.
