A website which allows adults to upload amateur video footage and pictures of themselves naked, having sex or participating in other legal adult activities is just one of the many websites included on a list alleged to be the ACMA blacklist. The same list the Australian media regulator has described as containing the ‘worst of the worst’.
xTube.com, which has over 2 million members from around the world, is the pornographic equivalent of YouTube and while the ACMA black list may well contain some of the worst the web has to offer, as we’ve seen here it also contains a darn lot more.
Find out more about the leaked Australian blacklist of banned websites here.

http://www.news.com.au/technology/story/0,28348,25210163-5014239,00.html implies that redtube.com, the 38th most visited site by Australians, is on the list (can’t confirm this as wikileaks.org is slashdotted).

Why is it banned? I am an ammature porn star and make a lot of money from Xtube. I get back from the states and it’s banned! Do they have a valid reason because I’d love to hear it! If kids don’t want to see it, they won’t go on it!! I am outraged! Ducking idiots!!

I see the USA does not have a monopoly on self-rightous moralizing stupidity.
SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN when they live in a world where their actions, speech and idea of art are defined by the State…which is controlled by a select few. Reread your history folks, this is the BS that brought down the Greek and Roman Empires….and just take a trip to Afghanistan or Pakistan to see how well restricted societies work out today.

“somebody think of the children” get out of our free world. don’t presume just because something offends you that it should be banned. here’s an idea, i promise not to get offended by all the religious stuff on the net, or the small town small mind syndrome that seems to pervade the world these days if you promise not to push your limited views on what is good and wholesome and what is not on me….deal.

Generally speaking, he who hath no sin, may cast the first stone. Judge not lest ye be judged. More than just pretty words I am afraid. Practice what you preach. It is our right as individuals to decide what we will and will not look at. If you dislike it, then change the channel. Like the Home Owners Association of America need to be dis-band, Somebody Think Of The Children should be dis-band as well. The time of the inquisition is long over. Right wing conformity does not work in this particular world.

X Tube has legal submissions from adults. They do not break laws of race, sex, sexuality, bestiality or drug use. This is more than can be said for youtube. The comments made on youtube are often libelous, racist, bullying and use very inappropriate language, on a site frequented and geared towards children. I have never heard anyone condemning this practice.

I think this is a disgrace. i understand the principal of this process, but I make responsible choices. i guess this government believes it can dictate to society what it believes to be appropriate (until the next election). BRING BACK DEMOCRACY!!!

Banned? I don’t think it is banned but i really don’t have a problem with it. Pornography promotes degrading of woman. But personally it is important to think of how ponorgaphy effects children. As some have said if children don’t want to watch it they turn it off. How would they have the maturity to do that. I am a social worker and have found in many area’s of woman abuse, pornography was a major addiction to the person committing the offence. Do we want our Children to think and behave in a manner digrading to woman and men.

There might be reasons other than content that encourages the regulators to ban a site. Think of tax for example. It’s too hard for them to tax individuals making money on the internet from sites that do not require a private person to be a ‘registered business’. If they can raise revenue from a site, they won’t ban a site. It’s tax, not care for children that is being considered! Just like the church, who invented tax, they knew too well how to get their money (and how to brain wash at the same time). To clean up this mess and be free to explore our own boundaries we ought to get rid of churches and politics as they stand now. This will take some time though. To start, vote for small insignificant parties with good leaders, stop supporting the big two parties. Stop going to and supporting your church; there are better ways to socialise and take responsibility for your own actions. If we cannot do that, we are merely wasting time.

i wonder why they’re banning free to view porn sites!!…people apreciate the stuff other people put on xtube and redtube…unlike youtube where you could be abused, victimised by racism, who knows what else….i just think its unfair for all the people who put in hard work to make those videos for websites such as!!!!

if you aren’t disabled, especially if you’re employed and have the financial means, if you are not doing something to help protect your freedoms than you are to blame.
why are you watching some idiotic reality TV show rather than meeting up in the real world with political action groups to do something about your out of control federal government that is planning to violate your freedom as adults to view and discuss any legal material you wish?
THE DRIVE TO BAN PORN IS JUST AN EXCUSE, once the porn ban mechanism is in place, the system will be used to ban political materials. THAT IS THE REAL GOAL — TO BAN POLITICAL MATERIAL, ARTICLES THAT REVEAL THE TRUE HISTORY OF THE LAST SEVERAL CENTURIES AND WHO IS REALLY RUNNING THINGS.

Hey where is the freedom in shutting down adult sites. There are millions of adult sites and many more will come. Most site do have a warning. Must be 18 or older to enter this site. What more can be done?

so much concern from an army with an ankle high wall in way of your wank fest.
your right to view porn is in no way a right. free and pornography and free and new york times are no longer two things for the “free” world. the small paragraph from a punky behaved colony as an example: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances; i.e. the redness of the redtube, please..the paragraphs of interpretation to spin that to your right to wank with the aid of ample video reference is quite the wild interpretation. one i won’t stand for or vote for at all.
the internet has no right to stay the wild west. even news sites will be developing new standards and charging. sites like the tube sites or porn sites that change one letter to mimic disney are false store fronts that are harmful when viewed by children/minors. fact is, it is an industry. one that should have regulations. these sites should not have the same access to marketing click through revenue at the expense of curious kids. it is damaging and can not be retracted.
hard to process for some adults, and very pro sex in my adult life having explicit sex chats– having that chat with an 11 year old nephew about anal sex is not my idea of a fab saturday night. that is what minors are having to process and it is unexcused and unnecessary.
how can you expect parents to keep up with content when huge providers like open DNS can barely?
accountability and taking the anonymity out of it is a fantastic way to start. if you aren’t embarrassed, don’t hide, lie or attempt to post questions on what downloads where, how you can get red tube or xtube from filling in your browser search or how your partner won’t find your sad little collection of masturbating videos.
have an open conversation with your partner and be frank about what you really have a right to and the responsibility you hold to community.
then, we can approach a public forum and finally regulate the internet in a way that doesn’t allow a religious agenda at all. information and honesty win over the easter bunny and god says no.

YOU are the problem Astrid. The SPIN is by you. It is plain English, written in common language for the lowest common denominator to understand. SHALL MAKE NO LAW ! YOU do NOT have the right to limit anything because of your beliefs except in your personal affairs, not mine or anyone elses. How bout YOU take responsibility for you and your children and I’ll worry about mine, If yours get banged by some laughable “internets predator” then it is YOUR FAULT as a parent, not the Internets, or the government, yours…. YOU failed as a parent. When your ideals infringe on my right …we got a problem. I personally despise pr0n….but I will defend everyone elses right to view, watch, participate in till my dying breath. NEVER GIVE UP RIGHTS!!! They are not given to you by government, they are inherent from birth and PROTECTED from government. WAKE THE FK UP!
Astrid says:

Well, ass, or more poignantly, my ass– if we are to assume the common denominator…let’s start by completing the sentence. Respect was the next word. Your rant seems devoid of it for anyone who disagrees and exercises their pen otherwise. I shall return the fervor.
I have no problem with your beliefs, personal attacks and lack of respect for community. Now,it goes without saying that I feel you to be a cowardly, slack jaw with your mind clinging to the idea that someone wants to pry freedom from your cold dead hands. You aren’t born with a car, computer, home or headset for your WoW.. my misguided heubsch ass. You buy them! Exchange of tender, exchange of goods, employment laws…TAX. (boo) All these things, including buying a home usher you into a community of which a plethora of laws, that a majority agree upon.
That bee in your bonnet has nothing to do with freedom. Nothing to do with your human rights to life, liberty or the pursuit of your video kitty with claws.
Since you are leading the charge with “no laws”..start by eating meat, not inspected. Chase it with some untested medication and be sure to wash the soggy bottom stains from your clothes in the nearest untreated lack of sewer and garbage pool. Jump off the grid, ass..first. Blah, your “freedom” is at risk. Nonsense.
The only person you’re bending over is the primary school you went to. Get your credit card out and prepare to pay for your “freedom”.
Southern California isn’t digging the lapse in income from the free circuit.
** Astrid’s arse would like you to know: when I do open door, it isn’t uploaded to a gazillion sites so that any idiot can buy a Canadian IP and hunter jumper post on over their silly pony wall block. I send my videos, postage paid to James May at Top Gear.

Ok here’s the deal, sex sales. As long as people are willing to pony up money, sex will continue to infiltrate our media one way or another. So think of it this way, greed is the problem here, not sex. I don’t think sex is a bad thing…that’s just stupid. Greed is the problem. Greed is the bad human trait that causes people to abuse sex. Greed for money, greed for self pleasure, for self…it’s all about greed. If somebody with the intellect of an average chimp could just wake up and see that since our humble beginings, we have been taking things that’s dont belong to us. HUMANS don’t own the earth. But we sure do try, and look where it’s gotten us!! Depleted OZONE, MELTING GLACIERS, OIL COVERED BEACHES. ARGUMENTS OVER PORN SITES LOL. It’s so rediculously petty in the long run it makes me sick.
