Amateur adult site xTube.com makes Aussie ban list

March 19, 2009 – 1:17 pm

x-banned

A website which allows adults to upload amateur video footage and pictures of themselves naked, having sex or participating in other legal adult activities is just one of the many websites included on a list alleged to be the ACMA blacklist. The same list the Australian media regulator has described as containing the ‘worst of the worst’.

xTube.com, which has over 2 million members from around the world, is the pornographic equivalent of YouTube and while the ACMA black list may well contain some of the worst the web has to offer, as we’ve seen here it also contains a darn lot more.

Find out more about the leaked Australian blacklist of banned websites here.

  2. http://www.news.com.au/technology/story/0,28348,25210163-5014239,00.html implies that redtube.com, the 38th most visited site by Australians, is on the list (can’t confirm this as wikileaks.org is slashdotted).

  5. :(

Here marks the end of my porn career.

  6. Why is it banned? I am an ammature porn star and make a lot of money from Xtube. I get back from the states and it’s banned! Do they have a valid reason because I’d love to hear it! If kids don’t want to see it, they won’t go on it!! I am outraged! Ducking idiots!!

  7. I see the USA does not have a monopoly on self-rightous moralizing stupidity.

SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN when they live in a world where their actions, speech and idea of art are defined by the State…which is controlled by a select few. Reread your history folks, this is the BS that brought down the Greek and Roman Empires….and just take a trip to Afghanistan or Pakistan to see how well restricted societies work out today.

  8. “somebody think of the children” get out of our free world. don’t presume just because something offends you that it should be banned. here’s an idea, i promise not to get offended by all the religious stuff on the net, or the small town small mind syndrome that seems to pervade the world these days if you promise not to push your limited views on what is good and wholesome and what is not on me….deal.

  9. Wow, Australia. Double-yoo, tee-EFF.

    What’s happening down there?

  10. Generally speaking, he who hath no sin, may cast the first stone. Judge not lest ye be judged. More than just pretty words I am afraid. Practice what you preach. It is our right as individuals to decide what we will and will not look at. If you dislike it, then change the channel. Like the Home Owners Association of America need to be dis-band, Somebody Think Of The Children should be dis-band as well. The time of the inquisition is long over. Right wing conformity does not work in this particular world.

  11. X Tube has legal submissions from adults. They do not break laws of race, sex, sexuality, bestiality or drug use. This is more than can be said for youtube. The comments made on youtube are often libelous, racist, bullying and use very inappropriate language, on a site frequented and geared towards children. I have never heard anyone condemning this practice.

  14. I think this is a disgrace. i understand the principal of this process, but I make responsible choices. i guess this government believes it can dictate to society what it believes to be appropriate (until the next election). BRING BACK DEMOCRACY!!!

  15. Banned? how? I still go on it. I’m confused?

By Kat on Jul 25, 2009

  16. Banned? I don’t think it is banned but i really don’t have a problem with it. Pornography promotes degrading of woman. But personally it is important to think of how ponorgaphy effects children. As some have said if children don’t want to watch it they turn it off. How would they have the maturity to do that. I am a social worker and have found in many area’s of woman abuse, pornography was a major addiction to the person committing the offence. Do we want our Children to think and behave in a manner digrading to woman and men.

  21. There might be reasons other than content that encourages the regulators to ban a site. Think of tax for example. It’s too hard for them to tax individuals making money on the internet from sites that do not require a private person to be a ‘registered business’. If they can raise revenue from a site, they won’t ban a site. It’s tax, not care for children that is being considered! Just like the church, who invented tax, they knew too well how to get their money (and how to brain wash at the same time). To clean up this mess and be free to explore our own boundaries we ought to get rid of churches and politics as they stand now. This will take some time though. To start, vote for small insignificant parties with good leaders, stop supporting the big two parties. Stop going to and supporting your church; there are better ways to socialise and take responsibility for your own actions. If we cannot do that, we are merely wasting time.

  22. i wonder why they’re banning free to view porn sites!!…people apreciate the stuff other people put on xtube and redtube…unlike youtube where you could be abused, victimised by racism, who knows what else….i just think its unfair for all the people who put in hard work to make those videos for websites such as!!!!

By SOMEBODY on Nov 5, 2009

  23. Well Xtube and Redtube r porno life like we all live in. You might not like it but its here and YOU live in it.

  24. What has happened to individual freedom? Just because some 15 has logged unto xtube, now we all have to suffer.
This country of Australia is now offical a Nanny State. What next speedos banned from the beach….!

    By C hris on Nov 25, 2009

  25. if you aren’t disabled, especially if you’re employed and have the financial means, if you are not doing something to help protect your freedoms than you are to blame.

why are you watching some idiotic reality TV show rather than meeting up in the real world with political action groups to do something about your out of control federal government that is planning to violate your freedom as adults to view and discuss any legal material you wish?

THE DRIVE TO BAN PORN IS JUST AN EXCUSE, once the porn ban mechanism is in place, the system will be used to ban political materials. THAT IS THE REAL GOAL — TO BAN POLITICAL MATERIAL, ARTICLES THAT REVEAL THE TRUE HISTORY OF THE LAST SEVERAL CENTURIES AND WHO IS REALLY RUNNING THINGS.

  26. Hey where is the freedom in shutting down adult sites. There are millions of adult sites and many more will come. Most site do have a warning. Must be 18 or older to enter this site. What more can be done?
