Heads up Brisbane folk: There’s two censorship related events at this years Brisbane Writers Festival.

Firstly the giveaway: Censorship and the Internet is a ‘searching examination of the ways the internet is threatening the rule of some of the planet’s most repressive governments.’ Antony Loewenstein and Annie Guest to host.

When: 12:40PM Sunday 21st of September
Where: State Library at South Bank
Freebie: I have one ticket to giveaway. Shoot me an email if you’d like to go. Update 9:35PM: Cheers guys. This has now been given away. Tickets are cheap though if you’re keen on going.

Then on Wed Oct 8, 6:30PM – The Henson Case: David Marr examines the pornography/art debate with exclusive interviews with Bill Henson, members of the NSW police force, child abuse campaigners and important figures in the Australian arts scene. I’m not exactly sure what this one will entail because the description looks like it was lifted from Marr’s upcoming book about the Henson case (due out October 27). Tickets are only $16, so I’ll check it out.

You can buy tickets to both events at Qtix.
