Bet the Coalition end up supporting it. This sort of stuff is right up their conservative alley, their (alleged) 'liberal' leanings notwithstanding.

Yes, it is true that they decided against internet censorship when in office, but that was for purely technical reasons, not political, philosophical, or moral ones.

They would also be very happy for Labor to take the blame for any failure to introduce such a scheme. Takes the moral heat off them from their own supporters.

I Agree with Lance, we really need to press home the important facts about the issue. Leave them in no doubt as to what we think, and how we vote.

Last response I got from Senator Simon Birminghams (Liberal, SA) office was that they are waiting for more information on what will be in the bill before deciding their opinion.

The same with Senator Nick Xenophon. His offices response was different from the standard belief the he actually wants to add to the list of sites blocked, though they did seem more concerned that the filtering wouldn't work correctly rather than the fact there would be filtering.

Just because the Greens are on-side isn't a reason to stop telling all the other Senators in your state to oppose the filter.

This is great news.

Now we just need to wait for the coalition to decide what to do
