I have to agree with Jon. The government has proposed this as a solution to child pornography, this is not a preventative method. While the blocking of some images may occur there is no way that this system would lead to increased arrests and a decrease of the number of children abused within this system?

Think of the children you say? Clearly the ALP is thinking of the best way to allow the abuse of children to continue while still being seen as 'proactive'.

I would further put it to Hon Stephen Conroy that he perhaps takes liberties with minors and captures it. As he has proposed that all those against his plan do.

This can also be viewed directly from the ABC video website

It's moved down the list as news comes in. It's on the second page at the moment.

I am getting rather tired of the argument that "if it even saves one child, isn't it worth it?". In this post, I ask the question: <a href="http://broadbannedrevolution.blogspot.com/2008/11/government-approved-illegal-pornography.html" rel="nofollow">"What if it doesn't? What if it makes the problem worse?"</a>

This was a nice well rounded report, giving equal voice to both parties. I think this is the first major media to really cover this. Hopefully other current affairs programs follow suite.

Let the people of Australia decide; I think people will overwhelmingly be against it.
